Shall We Split collects the minimum data needed to create and share a split session. This page explains what we store and how we use it.

What we collect

Session details like receipt items, prices, quantities, and categories.
Participant names and item assignments to calculate totals.
Tips and service charges you add to the split.
Receipt text if you paste it into the app.

Receipt processing

When you upload a receipt image or PDF, it is processed by Azure Document Intelligence to extract items and totals. You can always review and edit the results before sharing.

Where data lives

Session data is stored in our Supabase database so your group can sync in real time. We use this data only to provide the split session experience.
